OLLIE'S WALL

This project is a collaborative effort involving me and a team of artists – Henry Jock Walker, Benen Hamon, and Dave Court. It was inspired by my awesome art mentor, Jock, who has a passion for collaborative, community-driven art.

The process involved my drawings being projected onto the wall and then painted by the artists. Sometimes I was drawing with charcoal, which you can see in the black-and-white marks. At other times, I was drawing in colour on my iPad.

This project was made possible through the generosity of Arts SA’s Richard Llewellyn Deaf and Disability Arts Trust, whose art grant helped cover the costs, and Campbelltown Council, who provided the perfect space for the mural. Special thanks to the amazing artists – Jock, Benen, and Dave – for their help, and to Rachel McCaskill and Eliza Lovell at the Council. Thanks, too, to my incredibly supportive family – Kerri, Maurice, Nick, and Royce – and support workers Lisa and Sharon.

Seeing my drawings come to life on the wall was amazing! You can see it for real at the Paradise Recreation Plaza.
